Overview
This training provides your team members with a solid foundation in Linux system administration, helping ensure improved ability to manage your infrastructure efficiently. This helps provide better system reliability, improve efficient system and storage utilization, and faster and more accurate responsiveness to system failures. This is the second of a two course series that takes a computer professional from minimal Linux experience to being a fully capable Linux administrator.Red Hat has created this course in a way intended to benefit our customers, but each company and infrastructure is unique, and actual results or benefits may vary.
Course Description
Build the skills to perform the key tasks needed to become a full-time Linux administrator
Red Hat System Administration II (RH134) is the second part of the RHCSA training track for IT professionals who have already attended Red Hat System Administration I. The course goes deeper into core Linux system administration skills in storage configuration and management, installation and deployment of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, management of security features such as SELinux, control of recurring system tasks, management of the boot process and troubleshooting, basic system tuning, and command-line automation and productivity. This course assumes that students have attended Red Hat System Administration I (RH124).
Experienced Linux administrators who seek rapid preparation for the RHCSA certification should instead start with RHCSA Rapid Track (RH199).
Following course completion, you will receive a 45-day extended access to hands-on labs for any course that includes a virtual environment.
Note: This course is offered as a five day in person class, a five day virtual class or is self-paced. Durations may vary based on the delivery.

- Successful completion of Red Hat System Administration I (RH124) is recommended.
- Experienced Linux administrators seeking to accelerate their path toward becoming a Red Hat Certified System Administrator should start with the RHCSA Rapid Track course (RH199).

- Run commands more efficiently by using advanced features of the Bash shell, shell scripts, and various utilities provided by Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Schedule commands to run in the future, either one time or on a repeating schedule.
- Locate and accurately interpret system event logs for troubleshooting purposes.
- Archive and copy files from one system to another.
- Improve system performance by setting tuning parameters and adjusting scheduling priority of processes.
- Protect and manage the security of a server by using SELinux.
- Create and manage logical volumes containing file systems and swap spaces from the command line.
- Use the NFS protocol to administer network-attached storage.
- Manage the boot process to control services offered and to troubleshoot and repair problems.
- Control network connections to services using the system firewall and SELinux rules.
- Install Red Hat Enterprise Linux on servers and virtual machines.
- Obtain, run, and manage simple, lightweight services as containers on a single Red Hat Enterprise Linux server.

Interruption of service shall not be cause to modify the Term of the subscription. Any adjustment to the Term of the subscription will be at the sole discretion of Red Hat.
Right of cancellation by Red Hat: If the Named Participant or Client violates the terms of use of a Self-paced subscription, such as by allowing multiple users access to a single Named Participant’s materials, Red Hat may cancel a Self-paced subscription, prior to its expiration, without refund.
Self-paced Subscription Renewals: A Self-paced Subscription may be renewed, upon mutual agreement of the Client and Red Hat, for successive ninety (90) day Terms. Renewal of the Subscription will be at the list price for the Subscription, at the time of renewal, unless otherwise approved by Red Hat or a Red Hat Authorized Reseller Partner.
