Extend Microsoft Power Platform Solutions with code and AI
Course Description
Overview
Extend Microsoft Power Platform solutions with custom code and AI to build modern business applications. Explore advanced extensibility and customization, Power Apps code apps, and the integration of Microsoft Foundry and Copilot Studio agents. Apply core Power Platform development skills alongside AI-powered application development patterns to create connected, intelligent solutions. Objectives
- You can compare Power Platform extension options and choose the right one for a given scenario. These decisions help your architecture hold up as the solution grows.
- You can design cloud flow logic that handles unexpected data and recovers from failures. That logic also runs only when appropriate, reuses logic across flows, and stays operational independent of any one person's account.
- You can connect a code app to Dataverse data and perform Dataverse operations from app code. You can also configure environment-aware settings that support moving an app across environments.
- You can publish Dataverse events by using the IServiceEndpointNotificationService and the Plug-in Registration Tool. You can also register service endpoints for webhooks, Azure Service Bus, and Azure Event Hubs, and recommend the right option for listening to Dataverse events in a given scenario.
- Analyze solution requirements and components to identify their implementation approaches within an approved architecture
- Determine whether requirements can be met with out-of-the-box functionality
- Determine where to implement business logic, including cloud services, client-side processing, business rules, plug-ins, and Power Automate
- Determine when to use standard tables, virtual tables, elastic tables, or connectors
- Determine when to use deterministic or non-deterministic methods to implement business logic
- Design component-level authentication and authorization within the approved identity model
- Assess how managed environments, data policies, security roles, teams, business units, and row sharing affect implementation, and escalate changes to organization-level controls
- Determine when to use code apps, generative pages, Power Apps component frameworks (PCFs), web resources, interactive agents, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) app widgets to implement the user experience
- Determine when to use Microsoft Foundry or Microsoft Copilot Studio to build agents
