Overview
The Supporting Cisco Devices for Field Technicians (FLDTEC) training teaches you knowledge and skills related to on-site replacement of Cisco technologies across routing, switching, data center, unified computing system (UCS), and collaboration platforms. This includes hardware identification, cabling, configuration backup and restoration, and software upgrades/downgrades.This training prepares you for the 800-150 FLDTEC 1.0v exam. If passed, you earn the Cisco Certified Technician (CCT) Field Technician certification.
Objectives
- Learn how to identify common Cisco network devices, components, functions, roles, and tools
- Gain an understanding of Layer 1, 2, and 3 technologies
- Manage the configuration and replacement processes of Cisco devices
- Evaluate common network devices, components, and basic functionality
- Describe Cisco hardware families, their roles, and functions in a typical enterprise deployment
- Discover operating systems and command line interface (CLI) commands used to service Cisco products
- Compare common tasks and tools used to support Cisco equipment service tasks in field deployment scenarios
- Identify key tools and processes used when installing Cisco hardware components and devices
- Compare various processes and tools used to support deployment of Cisco software images and device configurations
- Identify the placement of key infrastructure components, common endpoints, and collaboration devices in an enterprise network
- Differentiate between on-premises, cloud, and hybrid collaboration deployment models
- the five main components of Cisco on-premises collaboration deployments, including their functions and key features
- Describe the role of collaboration infrastructure in supporting video endpoints, including Cisco • Management Suite, Cisco Meeting Server, and Cisco Meeting Management
- Explain how Cisco Webex integrates meetings, team collaboration, and calling features
- Identify the high-level steps for replacing Cisco infrastructure devices, Cisco UCS infrastructure components, and their field replaceable units
- Identify the form factors and field replaceable units found in Cisco Catalyst switches, Cisco ISR, Cisco 8000 Series, and Cisco NCS routers, and Cisco Catalyst Edge platforms
- Identify the interfaces and replaceable components in Cisco Meraki switches as well as follow tasks when replacing the switch itself
- Identify the main product series, field replaceable units, and management platforms for Cisco Secure Firewall devices and Cisco ASR routers
- Identify the high-level steps for replacing Cisco collaboration endpoints and hardware components
- Locate key network devices and their function in a common data center topology
- Indicate which data center components are virtualized in a common data center topology
- Match the UCS devices to their common placement in a customer network
- Match UCS management tools to their common use case
- Identify the high-level steps for replacing Cisco Nexus and MDS switches their field replaceable units
- Identify the configuration steps required in NX-OS when replacing data center network devices
- Summarize the high-level steps for replacing hardware components in UCS B-series, C-series, E-series, and X-series devices
- Differentiate the node replacement process in the Cisco UCS 5108 Blade Server Chassis from the Cisco UCS X9508 Server Chassis
