Associate Instructional Designer

Responsibilities

The responsibility of the Associate Instructional Designer is to design, develop, test, and deliver course development projects on time and within budget.

This position works within the Learning Development and Design (LD&D) organization which helps meet the needs of LearnQuest’s clients, sales team and internal organization to develop learning solutions. This position receives direction and recommendations from other members of the Learning Development and Design organization. The candidate will lead simple LD&D projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Define and document learning objectives.
  • Conduct research and collaborate with subject experts.
  • Collaborate in the creation of instructional material: eLearning and Instructor led courses, curriculum, student guides or training manuals.
  • Under the guidance of program managers, design content to optimize learning.
  • Generate the layout of the learning supports.
  • Redesign content to ensure it matches the learner’s needs.
  • Create visual, audio and interactive learning tools.
  • Design project-oriented internal and client-driven project solutions.
  • Create and review project storyboards.
  • Implement project storyboards into agreed upon modality utilizing state-of-the-art development tools and methodologies.
  • Ensure projects meet agreed upon requirements.
  • Maintain proficiency in a broad spectrum of eLearning development technologies.
  • Manage Quality Assurance, development, voice talent, and editorial review activities as required by project with the assistance of team members.

Required Background

  • Experience in designing eLeaning and instructor led courses using adult learning theory.
  • Experience developing courses using authoring tools (e.g., Adobe Captivate, Articulate 360, Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, etc.).
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and application of instructional design theory, instructional design principles, learning theory, instructional technology, and adult learning theory.
  • Solid eLearning development process creation and management for interactive modules, videos, live online classes, and other types of learning assets.
  • Capability to work collaboratively and effectively as an individual contributor and team member.
  • Ability to work independently, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent English writing and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Aptitude to take initiative, set priorities, and exercise good judgement in a fast-paced, dynamic, and driven environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to problem solve and suggest creative learning solutions.
  • Capacity to work in a team environment with colleagues, external clients, and SME’s.
  • Conduct quality assurance for grammar, writing mechanics, and punctuation.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education, Instructional Design, or equivalent experience.
