Getting Started with Microsoft 365
Course Description
Overview
Welcome to our “Getting Started with Microsoft 365” courseware. Microsoft 365 is Microsoft’s cloud-based productivity tool, which incorporates online services with online apps, desktop apps and other Microsoft tools.This course is intended to introduce users to Microsoft 365 and get started with basic tasks. They will become familiar with the apps and services included in a business subscription, file storage with OneDrive, and how to manage users, domains, and security.

This course assumes the user understands the basics of using a Windows-based computer. Students should be comfortable using the keyboard, mouse, and Start menu. Understanding and experience with printing and using a web browser is an asset, but not required.
Topics
- In the first lesson, students will learn about what Microsoft 365 is and how to log into their Microsoft 365 account, complete basic navigation tasks, search for help, and change basic settings. Additionally, they will learn how to download and install Office apps onto their computer, and sign in to their Microsoft 365 account from Office apps.
- Next, students will become familiar with the applications and services offered by the Microsoft 365 Business Standard subscription plan. The purpose of each app or service, and how to navigate within the interfaces of these apps and services is also covered.
- This lesson goes over how to share files and collaborate using OneDrive and Delve. In addition, we also cover the OneDrive for Business app and how to sync your OneDrive for Business account with your computer.
- This lesson introduces students to the role of an administrator, and how to use the Admin Center and related apps. They will also learn how to add users, create groups, and manage resources and sites.
- This administrator’s role is further explored in the final lesson. After learning about managing domains, students will be introduced to the Security & Compliance Center. It is there that you can create alerts, manage user permissions, and control data loss.
