Overview
This course is designed to provide instruction to anyone who is involved in software development, including the end user, in the goals and methodology of the software testing life cycle.Acceptance testing views the interrelationship of all aspects of the system in its entirety. As well as verifying the satisfaction of the requirements, it is a vehicle to ensure that training, on-line help, user guides, etc. corresponds with the program operations being delivered.
Testing at the user level should be approached differently from testing at the system functional level. Although some overlap occurs, the perspective taken and techniques used by the user acceptance group versus the system test team are radically different. The intent is to keep these two testing approaches unique but steering toward a similar end result. This is analogous to two proofreaders verifying a document: - one is looking for grammatical errors; the other is looking for errors in fact.
