This course trains developers in IMS Database concepts & design. The student will be able to write application programs that access and update DL/I databases.
Find your Class →CICS TS: Fundamentals (MFCI-130)
5 days | Optional
This CICS TS: Fundamentals course is intended for analysts, programmers, and IT professionals that require an organized introduction to CICS functions and capabilities. There is an examination of CICS structure, adaptability, and interaction with IBM system software and third party software. A case study and exercises provide insights into designing and coding CICS programs. Private courses can be tailored to the specific operating system and system software of the client organization.
Find your Class →REXX Scripts in the z/OS Environment (MFRX-110)
3 days | Optional
This REXX course is for those wanting to learn and master REXX in the z/OS environment. Students will study the REXX interpreter as a basis for understanding techniques for writing efficient and readable REXX code. Templates, tracing, and interpreting are reviewed as well as Generic built-in functions. During workshops, students will test REXX in a variety of commonplace application scenarios. Students will learn how to create their own subroutines and functions. Terminal output will be trapped from z/OS and TSO/E. Techniques will be presented to manage the program stack, along with file I/O. Familiarity with TSO/E, ISPF, and ISPF Editor is required. Experience with JCL is beneficial but not mandatory.
