Course Description
Overview
The Red Hat Certified Specialist in Decision Management exam (EX364) is a performance-based test of the skills and knowledge needed to implement and manage business decisions and rules using Red Hat® Decision Manager.
You will be asked to perform a number of tasks, ranging in complexity from implementing very simple decision and business rules to creating relatively complex business logic flows that require the use of conflict resolution techniques to ensure that the various rules fire in the correct order. You will be evaluated on how well your implementations meet objective criteria, such as producing a specific output given a specific set of inputs.
By passing this exam, you become a Red Hat Certified Specialist in Decision Management, which also counts toward becoming a Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA®).
This exam is based on Red Hat Decision Manager 7.8.
Audience for this exam
- Experienced enterprise Javaâ„¢ developers who are familiar with service-oriented architecture principles
- Enterprise architects with some Java development experience and knowledge of business service implementation
Prerequisites for this exam
There are no prerequisites to take this exam but it is recommended that an individual take Developing Application Business Rules with Red Hat Decision Manager (AD364).

What you need to know
Preparation
There are no prerequisites to take this exam but it is recommended that an individual take Developing Application Business Rules with Red Hat Decision Manager (AD364). Also, experience with VSCodium and its DRL / DMN editor extensions are strongly recommended.
Attendance in these classes is not required; students can choose to take just the exam.
While attending Red Hat classes can be an important part of your preparation, attending class does not guarantee success on the exam. Previous experience, practice, and native aptitude are also important determinants of success.
Many books and other resources on system administration for Red Hat products are available. Red Hat does not endorse any of these materials as preparation guides for exams. Nevertheless, you may find additional reading helpful to deepen your understanding.
Exam format
This exam is a performance-based evaluation of implementation and management skills and knowledge of Red Hat Decision Manager. You will perform a number of tasks and will be evaluated on whether you have met specific objective criteria. Performance-based testing means that you must perform tasks similar to what you perform on your job.
Prospective employers of people with the Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Business Rules should verify any and all claims by people claiming to hold this credential by requesting their certification ID and verifying it using the Red Hat certification verification tool.
Scores and reporting
Official scores for exams come exclusively from Red Hat Certification Central. Red Hat does not authorize examiners or training partners to report results to candidates directly. Scores on the exam are usually reported within 3 U.S. business days.
Exam results are reported as total scores. Red Hat does not report performance on individual items, nor will it provide additional information upon request.
