Wipro

Success Story #1


Client

Wipro, the third largest Indian System Integrator and one of the premier IBM technology providers initiated a strategic training partnership with LearnQuest beginning in 2015. Since the inception of the partnership, LearnQuest has delivered the majority of the IBM technology training for Wipro practitioners in India. In addition, LearnQuest has aligned the training delivery to support the essential certification path of Wipro associates.

The Challenge

In 2016, LearnQuest faced the challenge of providing additional value to Wipro in that the prior 2015 training plan met the requirements for Analytics, Security among other others.

For 2016, Wipro identified BlueMix, Watson, and Softlayer as key areas for enablement of their teams to maintain their ability to service clients adopting the latest IBM technologies. Wipro’s objective was to be the leading system integrator of certified Bluemix professionals across India.

The Solution

LearnQuest partnered strategically with both IBM and the Wipro Alliance team to develop a training program to support Wipro on the enablement of their consultants on BlueMix and providing support for BlueMix certification. In 2016, LearnQuest secured a commitment from Wipro to support their organziations’ Bluemix training and certification.

LearnQuest created a three-day course combining DW001 Getting Started with IBM Bluemix & DW002 Cloud Application Developer Certification for the instructor-led training delivery. LearnQuest also developed the roadmap for certifications examinations to be completed after the three-day course.

LearnQuest provided a dedicated team of trainers to meet the customer need and has been successfully delivering training ever since.

LearnQuest worked very closely with multiple contacts across the combined teams of Wipro and IBM. Managing expectations and bringing teams to consensus were constant challenges.

The Outcome and Results

The program has helped Wipro train over 1500 employees and certify over 650 employees on Bluemix in 2016.

Our strong understanding of the Wipro business, level of interactions with the key stakeholders, and primarily, our demonstrated excellence in delivery makes LearnQuest a valuable learning partner for Wipro, now, and in the future.

AIS & LearnQuest Collaborate to Deliver Crucial
BigFix Training to NASA

Success Story #2


LearnQuest partners with over 200 organizations worldwide that deliver and resell authorized IBM training as an extension of the LearnQuest family. Advanced Integrated Solutions (AIS), an IBM Premier Business Partner and LearnQuest Exclusive Education Delivery Partner is a leader in providing Service Management, Service Delivery, IT Security and IBM Training solutions to customers in North America. AIS and LearnQuest recently collaborated to assist NASA with a very challenging and urgent IBM BigFix training requirement.

The Request

Weeks from the IBM BigFix implementation rollout NASA discovered that the enablement training being provided by their contracted systems integrator was designed to be delivered via self-paced virtual PowerPoint presentation decks. This type of training did not meet the requirements of the contract between NASA and their systems integrator; requirements were specifically detailed to be on-site, instructor-led, classroom training. Class dates had been selected, classrooms booked and student travel arranged when NASA learned of the discrepancy. NASA contacted IBM’s Federal Government team for assistance in meeting their requirements for training. Relying on AIS’s demonstrated leadership in delivering customized IBM BigFix courses, IBM immediately reached out to AIS to assist in resolution.

The Challenges

Client desired onsite, instructor-led, customized, classroom training for 60-students. Students from 12 centers across the country with multiple organizations at each center required onsite training for their BigFix Operators.

Given the client’s scheduled go-live dates, required training had to be delivered in less than five weeks’ time.

Client needed to enhance the IS720 IBM Big Fix Platform Fundamentals course with emphasis on Patch, Inventory and Security/Compliance. Inventory and Security/Compliance are not covered in the standard IS720 course, so custom content had to be developed.

The Solution

Partnering with LearnQuest, AIS was able to provision labs, student materials, and logistical support to solve NASA’s challenge. LearnQuest ensured the IBM labs would be available for all 60 students and provided special pricing on the courseware so that AIS could submit the most competitive bid possible. As a result, AIS was awarded the contract.

Leading up to the course, AIS worked with the client to tailor the curriculum and develop custom content not addressed in the standard IBM IS720G course. LearnQuest provided instrumental, behind-the-scenes, administrative support to AIS by adding the private class to the LearnQuest schedule and reserving the IBM labs. LearnQuest also devised a “work around” solution to register students using numbers rather than names, as NASA was not able to provide student names for registration prior to the course.

This engagement was one of the largest LearnQuest partner-delivered classes to date. As a result, AIS structured the delivery of the course using two instructors: a lead instructor to focus on and deliver lecture content and a second, circulating instructor to answer student questions and assist with facilitating the IBM labs.

The Outcome

Based on the results of the final evaluations and student feedback, the class was very well received. Students, clients, and instructors were all exceptionally pleased; in fact, NASA has requested a second run of this class that will be delivered in December 2016.

Case 1

Client and Requirements

IBM India has facilities in Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Gurgaon, Noida, Chandigarh, Indore, Bhubaneshwar, Coimbatore, Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad.

IBM India has seen such significant growth over the past five years that it now poses a competitive challenge to homegrown software companies in India around IT global delivery. IBM currently operates the following business lines from India, which are major contributors to IBM’s worldwide global delivery framework: India Software Labs (ISL), India Research Lab (IRL), Linux Technology Center, Global Business Services(GBS), Global Technology Services (GTS), formerly known as ITD-GD (Information Technology Delivery - Global Delivery), Global Business Solutions Center (GBSC), Sales & Distribution (S&D), Integrated Technology Services (ITS).

The Challenge

The LearnQuest India team identified a need to deliver multiple training batches, or groups of students, in various technologies, DB2, TSM, IBM SAN, AIX, and locations. In total, five batches had to be delivered simultaneously across India. Each batch had six training sessions totaling 20 days with 20 - 25 participants in each batch. It was essential that the trainer profile, course outline and schedule aligned with the requirements specified in the client proposal response.

The Solution

The LearnQuest India team worked swiftly and vigorously to ensure that all the requirements for this large-scale training engagement set forth in the Request for Proposal were met with the highest quality standards. LearnQuest shared competitive pricing with the client, and we were their clear choice based on the market scenario. We then worked to align the most qualified instructors with each of the batches.

The Outcome and Results

LearnQuest flawlessly executed the training. The customer appreciated our prompt response and a smooth delivery. These successful deliveries resulted in additional business opportunities. The overall training feedback rating for this engagement is 95%.

Case 2

Client and their Requirements

IBM GBS and LearnQuest identified a need to deliver customized Graduate Hire training batches across Infosphere, Cognos, IBM Commerce Server, Filenet, Mainframe, AS400, IBM MDM, Datapowre IIB and Websphere Portal.

The Challenge

Training opportunities across these topics are scheduled alongside other Business Skills and non-IBM technical training, and each instructor from this large network needs to be matched to the right course within the master schedule provided by the IBM GBS team. The instructors have to be evaluated and approved by an IBM SME in order to qualify to teach these batches. It’s imperative that these instructors provide the highest quality training, as they are also accountable for the participants passing the final assessments.

The Solution

We met as a team and decided to take several quality measures. First, we ensured that the instructors assigned were the most qualified from the large pool at our disposal and managed a quick response time throughout this process with the IBM GBS team. We also arranged for a checkpoint with the client to discuss performance on a weekly basis. Finally, our team built extra lab time into the class delivery so that participants had additional enrichment if needed. As the historic data indicates, LearnQuest provided excellent resources at competitive pricing.

The Outcome and Results

LearnQuest successfully delivered training across various technologies, with overall customer satisfaction quality scores exceeding 95%.

Now more than 90% of the new hire students are deployed at customer locations and used for internal projects.
